Wait on the Lord

Psalm 27:14
Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Hurry seems to be my middle name for it seems to be the mode in which I live. I drive fast, I walk hurriedly, I speed read, and I hurry through the day.

Why? I don't know but my mama said I ran everywhere I went as a child. It would appear I'm not alone in living this way for most people I meet during a day are also in a hurry. If you slow down you will get run over.

My spiritual life is also done hurriedly at times. I pray and want instant answers. I read the scriptures quickly and expect to hear God's messages. I want the problems of the world solved now. The personal problems I have need instant solutions.

Psalm 27:14 says to "wait on the Lord" for His timing is perfect and I need to have the courage to wait on Him for He is the Creator and knows how and when everything should be accomplished. Why do I hurry ahead try to do it on my own?

My prayer for today is that I will be still and know that He is God and is in control of everything and that I will wait to hear His instructions and wait with courage knowing that God is always victorious!
